2016 Speakers

Hello, Computer Scientists! Every week or two, we will have someone visit or video-chat with our class. The speakers will talk about what excites them in the technology world, how they got where they are, and what they are looking forward to in the future. The goal is to challenge ideas, to create discussion and to show that computer science is not just programming, but is changing the world all around us.

Typical schedule for fall semester, 2016 is:

Periods 1 & 2 are at John Marshall High School at 7:40 and 8:35
Periods 4 & 6 are at Mayo High School at 10:30 and 12:20
(Tuesday schedule is 8:15, 9:00, 11:00, and 12:30)

Typical schedule for spring semester, 2017 is:

Periods 1 & 2 are at Century High School at 7:40 and 8:35
Periods 5 & 6 are a block class at CTECH starting at 11:45
(Tuesday schedule is 8:10, 9:00 at Century and 12:10 at CTECH)

The class will be on backchannelchat.com and I will moderate the questions and promote the most popular ones. The speaker can either have backchannelchat open themselves, or wait for me to ask questions on the class’ behalf.
